Finnegans Wake
When John Van Orman met Bill Furry and Bill Rintz almost 41 years ago in Springfield, IL, they discovered a love of British, Irish, and American folk songs that continues until today.They first played at Focal Point, as best as they can remember, back in 1975, Focal Point's first year in operation! They combine sea songs, murder ballads, Ewan MacColl and Stephen Foster songs with John Van Orman's originals. Their wide-ranging accompaniment includes guitars, concertinas, and fiddles, hurdy-gurdy, mandolin, shruti box, pennywhistle, and celeste.
