Haunted Atlas Coal Mine - Big Boo
Darkness draws nearer in East Coulee for the 10th anniversary of the Haunted Atlas Coal Mine. Our theme "Ten Years of Terror", highlights the best spooks of the last nine seasons.
The wall between living and dead will be thin at the Haunted Atlas Coal Mine. Big Boo explores the origins of Halloween, an ancient Celtic festival. At the end of harvest there was a time of animal slaughter, bonfires, divining the future, and rituals.
Big Boo is a scary affair, not recommended for the faint of heart (or children under 9). Bring a flash-light, dress for chills, and follow a route through a dark and dangerous industrial site.
The Haunted Atlas Coal Mine is an annual fun(d)raising event for the Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site. Revenue generated supports building restoration at the nationally designated, locally operated site. Between May and Thanksgiving, Atlas provides thrilling underground Tunnel Tours, narrow gauge Mantrip Tours, Tipple Tours, and Unmentionables Tours.
