Lessons Learned from Sitting Still
Please join us before the lecture for a reception beginning at 6:15. Wine and light snacks will be provided; feel free to BYOB as well.
Will Duncan recently completed a traditional three-year silent retreat in the Gelugpa tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. In this class he will share some of this experience and also some very clear and accessible meditation techniques that you can begin applying immediately into your own practice or use to start a new practice if you have never meditated before. He will also discuss some of the different classical stages of a spiritual life and talk about lessons he has learned along the way. Will has been formally studying scripture and meditation with his teachers for three decades, and teaches yoga, meditation and philosophy throughout the world bringing humor and light-heartedness into every class. His interest is in making ancient wisdom applicable to real people in a chaotic world.
