Jason Simon is best known for his work as the guitarist and singer for the highly regarded Los Angeles based psych band Dead Meadow, a group inspired as much by eastern drone & Indian music as by 70's stoner rock gods. In 2001, John Peel asked Dead Meadow to record a Peel Session which was recorded in Fugazi's home studio, the first time a Peel Session was recorded outside the BBC studios. Although still active in that outfit, Jason branched out & released his self-tilted debut solo record (on the renowned East Coast psych label Tee Pee Records) which saw him further exploring the mellower acoustic tones & intimate songwriting style touched on in recent Dead Meadow albums. Alongside Nate Ryan (ex-Black Angels)Jason is currently at the helm of Old Testament, whose self-titled release is out now via Xemu Records.
