In My Mind: A LGBT People of Color Mental Health Summit
Depressed Black Gay Men (DBGM) Inc. hosts a summit to focus on the LGBT Black and Latino community and the topics around mental health. It will be a highly collaborative, conducive and inclusive environment for stakeholders and the wider community to become informed about academic, health, psycho-social, and overall public policy issues that impact LGBT people of color.
As the first-ever Summit of this type, it will address mental health issues revolving around therapeutic intervention, education, mental illness, and public policies for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex.
It is intended to raise awareness of the many underlying factors which impede a LGBT person from achieving his or her potential in life and to identify ways of effectively addressing these issues, so as to provide efficient and comprehensive solutions and tools to alleviate the suffering of many in the LGBT POC communities.
