A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM
As a tribute to a great writer, The James Downing Theatre opens its new season with William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
This year marks The Bard's 450th anniversary of his birth. William Shakespeare was baptized on April 26, 1564. At that time, infants were baptized three days after their birth, therefore scholars believe that he was born on April 23, the same day he died 52 years later in 1616.
Celebrate this great writer on a journey to a world of love, magic, mischief and mind-boggling mayhem in one of Shakespeare's most popular works. Follow the adventures of four young lovers through a woodland dreamscape on a wild and merry chase led by the mischievous Puck.
"A Midsummer Night's Dream" will be directed by Manuel Ortiz. The cast features Chad Gearig-Howe, robin Bousel, Corey Mills, Kyle Cassady, Matthew Patrick, Olivia Douglas, Gabrielle Cross, Nathan Ducker, Cory Kahane, Jordan Scott Taylor, Elise Soeder, Whiteney Pipes, Haley Oldham, Guilly Guire, Alexandra Cross, and Brad Senffner.
