Bridge Meadows: The Power of Place, Permanence, and Purpose
Bridge Meadows
Portland, OR

September 19, 2014
10:00-11:00 a.m.

Opportunity:
MOVE is honored to offer this extraordinary opportunity to visit Bridge Meadows with Executive Director Derenda Schubert as our guide. This event takes place the morning before our 2:00 p.m. event with Beth Baker, "With a Little Help from Our Friends."

Space is limited for this free morning tour, so don't delay reserving your spot!

We are asking those who join us to bring along a gift of school supplies for the children who live at Bridge Meadows. Maybe you would like to take up a collection in your community and give those you know an opportunity to "pay it forward."

If you would like to see firsthand an intentional community - one Beth Baker highlights in her new book - please plan to join us!

More about Bridge Meadows:
Bridge Meadows is a unique multi-generational community located in the Portsmouth neighborhood of North Portland where adoptive parents, foster children, and elders - those over 55 - find a true home built with love and the shared vision of a better tomorrow.

Bridge Meadows works at the intersection of child welfare, aging and affordable housing- issues that impact each of us, not just socially and emotionally, but economically as well. It is the only intentional intergenerational housing community for foster youth, adoptive parents, and low-income elders in the region, and the only one in the country in an urban setting. The Bridge Meadows model draws on the strengths of three generations towards a singular purpose- that all three generations may live full, meaningful and connected lives.

Who should attend:
MOVE has an opportunity to visit this inspirational community before Beth Baker's 2:00 p.m. event, "With a Little Help from Our Friends". However, space is limited so do not delay.

Presenter:
Our Guide will be Derenda Schubert, Executive Director of Bridge Meadows. Dr. Schubert is a psychologist with professional experience including counseling children and families as well as creating and managing programs in the realms of foster care, mental health, and developmental disabilities.

Meet at 9:45 in the lobby. (It's clearly marked and easily identifiable once you're there).

Street parking on all four sides of the community is available for guests.
