Irish Comedy: Joe Rooney (plus Andrew Stanley)
Joe Rooney -- who achieved notoriety as Father Damo on the popular BBC Series "Father Ted" and later starred in "Killinaskully" -- headlines a night of comedy straight from Ireland at The Burren, 247 Elm Street (Davis Square) in Somerville on Wednesday, August 27. Andrew Stanley, host of Dublin's Comedy Cellar as well as RTE 2 TV's "I Dare Ya," is the feature act. Boston comedians Dave Rattigan (who has performed in Kilkenny and Dublin) and Steve Macone (host of the Burren's weekly comedy show) will also do short sets. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door, if space permits. Seating is limited.
