2014 Michigan Burlesque Festival

The Michigan Burlesque Festival started in 2013 with the the intent on bringing some of the worlds most unique performers to the mitten state in hopes of reuniting the concepts of original burlesque theater, where dancers and vaudevillians shared a stage to provide an entertaining and more comedic show.

This Festival is fully produced by Mabel Syrup & Valencia Starling, of Ann Arbor, MI, as a full-on side project in their co-founded business Fancy Pants Arts & Entertainment.

Headliners for the for this year's festival will include: Chicago's own beloved community chest - Cruel Valentine (http://cruelvalentine.com) and Windy City Burlesque Festival founder - Red Hot Annie (http://redhotannie.com), as well as Ohio vaudeville power duo - Pinch & Squeal (http://pinchandsqueal.wix.com/voix-de-ville) and Detroit's own beloved superstar - Satori Circus (http://satoricircus.com), who is celebrating his 25th year of being Satori.

In addition to this year's all-star cast, the Tangent Gallery will be booming throughout the night, lined with artists and merchants displaying and selling their crafts, apparel, treats and more!

Festival workshops will be hosted by the festival's emcee, the vibrant and hilarious Foxy Tann and Detroit's hardest working showgirl, Lushes LaMoan. All workshops will be held on Saturday, September 20th at the Tangent Gallery and include: Fabulous is a State of Mind (12pm), Assels & Tassels (2pm) and the FUNdamentals of Character Development (4pm).
