"The Taming of the Shrew" by William Shakespeare
Bare Theatre presents William Shakespeares wild comedy, The Taming of the Shrew, playing October 2nd to 11th at The Holly Springs Cultural Arts Center and at Common Ground Theatre in Durham.
The Taming of the Shrew is a fast-paced, hilarious love story that is also the ultimate battle of the sexes. Directed by Artistic Director Heather J. Hackford and set in modern corporate America, this classic tale pits the ambitious, hard-headed Petruchio against the infamously stubborn shrew, Katherine.
Bare Theatres production mixes commedia dellarte clowning by veteran Bare performer Tara Pozo and comedic physicality staged by Fight Director Jeff A. R. Jones. Hackford sets the scene with a modern abstract cityscape and a sound design of jazzy electronic music by Company Sound Designer G. Todd Buker.
