Edible Pursuit at Roberta's

On August 26, the trivia game that's stumping San Francisco super-foodies finally comes to Brooklyn. Better still, Edible Pursuits first-ever East Coast quiz-off takes place in the new backyard beer garden of Roberta's.

Where was the first pizza sold in New York?
What Brooklyn brewery was an official sponsor of the 1964 Worlds Fair?
What is the name of the longest tunnel in the world, which also happens to be part of the New York City water system?

If these questions get your creative juices flowing, join us at Roberta's - its in Bushwick, just off the Morgan Avenue L train stopfor a night of picnic table feasting and food-related trivia, plus their praise-worthy brick-oven pizza, of course. Both singles and teams will compete for mounds of prizes, including bottles of wine and beer, cookbooks, restaurant gift certificates and other Edible desirables. The set menu will include North Fork wine and local brews and will highlight Roberta's dedication to sourcing local produce (you'll see their own rooftop vegetable garden right on top of you) as well as Red Wattle pork from Heritage Foods and plenty of other great grub. For $50, its a steal-of-a-deal.

Last but not least, youll be asked to answer questions on Brooklyns food history (curated by Edible Brooklyn deputy editor Rachel Wharton), pizza traditions and pie-making (curated by Robertas own Angelo Womack), and the ins and outs of meat - literally. Our editors have come up with questions that are sure to challenge even Edible Brooklyn readers; and there'll be prizes for the winners at every round.
