Word Up! Poetry Slam
The City of Sunrise Foundation, in conjunction with the Write Side Poets, proudly presents the Word Up! Poetry Slam. This unique community event and fundraiser will be held on Friday, October 2, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sunrise Civic Center Theatre.
Word Up! is a competition for Broward County middle- and high-school students that places a dual emphasis on writing and performance. Poets will deliver inspirational, original works that focus on such topics as education, charity and empowerment.
Word Up! partners include the Broward County Library and the Urban League of Broward County. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, call 954-747-4662.
