Thug - Vivid Motion's Summer Dance Show
Thug, an intense show told through dance. This summer's most intense dance show! Vivid Motion is pleased to present Thug - an original work by Scarborough resident Shea Murphy. It is a gritty tale of bullying and profiling, dealing with depression and loss, moral ambiguity, corrupted authority and lost innocence, all set to a diverse array of musical selections.
The story centers around a young man named Jacob and his tumultuous maturation from adolescence to adulthood, Nadia - a troubled tomboy, and Jillian - a young, impoverished, single mother. The challenges and emotional turmoil faced by Jacob, his family, and his friends are not unlike those some of us face every day disappointment, rejection, jealousy, anger, depression.
Thug combines the innovation and creativity of 10 different choreographers, and the skills and styles of dancers throughout southern Maine to bring this tragic story to life. Don't miss your chance to see this powerful, original show August 7, 8, 9, & 10 at St. Lawrence Arts.
This show contains thematic elements that are not suitable for children.
Tickets are also available for purchase at the theater each night, beginning 1 hour prior to curtain.
