Rosas y Espinas (Roses and Thorns)
Flamenco Chicago Studio's 20th semi-annual studio showcase, with 20 emerging dancers performing traditional and contemporary flamenco.
The setting is the light and airy Hairpin Arts Center in the heart of the Logan Square neighborhood Milwaukee Ave. thoroughfare.
8-10pm on Saturday, July 19
Sip a glass of complimentary sangría while watching our emerging dancers, beginning through advanced, perform choreographies by Flamenco Chicago artistic director Rosetta Magdalen. Try out a few flamenco dance steps during a mid-show mini-class. Guitarist Andres De La Serna will offer solo-guitar interludes of both rumba flamenca and electrified flamenco fusion.
