Movie Screening and Filmmaker Talk: The Organic Life
Join us in the Grange after dark for a special screening of The Organic Life, which chronicles a year in the life of a young organic farmer working at Paul's Produce in Sonoma, CA.
The movie will start at 8:00 pm. Following the screening will be a discussion with the filmmaker and the farmer.
The Organic Life is a yearlong chronicle of life on an organic farm. The film focuses on one young farmer, filmmaker Casey Beck's boyfriend, Austin Blair, and tells their story. The intimate portrait that results presents a first-hand view of the low points and ultimately the joys that surface over a year of farming.
It's a story that's filled with sweat, blisters, sun, and rain as well as a compelling passion for life, food, and the earth. The film questions the financial future of young farmers and brings an examining eye to sustainable farming-not merely how a farm itself is viable, but also how the farm sustains its keepers.
Beer, wine, and produce will be available for sale. This event is free to farmers.
