Can you be trusted?
Of course you can. You work hard to gain and keep the trust of your donors, volunteers and employers. But experienced fundraisers know that we all walk ethical lines every day. Staying on the right side of those lines is a must.
Sometimes we can step over an ethical line and not even realize it. And once trust is lost, it's very difficult to earn back. So that means we have to be mindful. We have to think about ethics every day, and we have to keep learning.
Real-world case studies can help a lot.
At our July 10 luncheon, Rochelle Williams is going to bring real-world case studies in ethics straight to you. You'll hear about actual scenarios from the fundraising world, and what they mean for your own work, and the trust you've built around your mission.
About Rochelle Williams
Rochelle Williams has spent her entire 17-year career working in, around, and for social change organizations- from small-but-mighty community based programs to national and international organizations. She has been responsible for everything from fundraising and program development to research and strategy design.
The biggest lesson she learned from those experiences can be summed up by the African proverb, If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." She saw that there is no substitute for the wisdom that can emerge through collaboration that is thoughtful and inclusive.
Her goal as a consultant and facilitator is to help small nonprofit organizations bring their big ideas to life with simple yet effective program, organizational, and fundraising strategies.
