DIF Workshop - Start Sketch Writing, Marc Warzecha (HQ)
Want to try writing sketch comedy? This workshop will jump-start your sketch writing by providing tricks, tools, and tips for generating ideas, finding a strong point-of-view, and understanding basic sketch comedy structure that is followed in all sketch comedy for the stage, web, and TV!
Marc Warzecha is a comedy writer and director based in Los Angeles, credits include: "The Second City's Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens" (Kirk Douglas Theatre), "An Evening with Martin Short" (Tour), "BarackStars" (Woolly Mammoth, Washington DC), "The Art of Satire" (National Tour in collaboration with The Economist Magazine), "Can You Be More Pacific?" (Laguna Playhouse, Laguna Beach, California), "War! Now in it's 4th Smash Year!" (Second City Chicago Mainstage- Joseph Jefferson nominee: Best Director, Best Revue, Best Ensemble), "Pratfall of Civilization" (The Second City Chicago ETC Joseph Jefferson nominee: "Best Director") His work as a satirist has been featured on ABC's "Nightline",Newsweek magazine, and the Washington Post, and he has been a guest on CNN's "Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer" and NPR's "All Things Considered."
