d'Hotel Winnetka (Chicago)
Being lovers and practitioners of all forms of improv, d'Hôtél Winñetkå enjoys playing with a variety of forms and will often start a show- in their signature fashion- with the roll of a die. Forms are assigned a numeric value, and the die determines which will be performed for that show- so even they don't know what will happen! Some of the favorite forms used: JTS Brown, Courtesy Sleeve, Living Room, The Armando, Silent Set, The Bat, WeirDass, Monoscene, The Movie, Improvised Stand-up, Shotgun, Puppets, Rap Madrigal, and others!
Offbeats (Ferndale)
The OffBeats generally begin by getting a suggestion of 'something inspiring'. Our show then begins with an improvised group poem or solo poem. Once the poem is finished, we then improvise a scene based on the theme or content of the poem. The scene is then edited by the initiation of another improvised poem.
Lorax (Vancouver)
45 minute organic longform, with an emphasis on highly physical, transformation edits. Elements of acrobatics, dance, and physical theatre are used to heighten and juxtapose the narrative scenework.
