FREE All About Tugs Tour aboard Tug Pegasus
The 1907-built Tug Pegasus is a maritime icon whose very existence tells an important story about the history of the Port of New York/New Jersey. Join us as we interpret the world around the Tug Pegasus, teaching visitors about the harbor's value as a rich natural habitat, as a historic waterway that shaped this city's history, and as a thriving commercial port crucial to today's economy. This tug's activity in both World Wars and her survival of technological changes, from steam to diesel propulsion and from riveted to welded construction, make her a unique vessel.*
*PLEASE NOTE: Tour 1 and Tour 2 are one-way tripsthe Tug Pegasus will NOT transport you back to your point of origin.
