Fine and Rare
Can you believe how earth shatteringly incredible it has been here at Polly's Paladar?  Can you even fathom what a surprise it is for me to thumb through over seven hundred members after 2 1/2 years of monthly dinner parties and then be able to announce yet ANOTHER month's exciting Paladar?  It is very difficult to put into words the overwhelming sensation coursing through my heart when you all keep coming.  All of you.  Guests, staff, and chefs.  I cannot freaking believe it!   But I must!  Our double feature last weekend was, indeed, legendary.  Two nights of finger lickin' yum.  All of you who enjoyed The Big Easy have that now.  You can lean back and close your eyes and feel that warmth.  You can go back there now.  You can taste that fun, can't you?  I can!  So please join us again for another load of wonderful multi sensory memory making at FINE AND RARE on July 19th.  I love love love it!

A bit about Scott and Ted:
They come to Polly's Paladar through Jordan and Parker of Stag Dining Group.  They often collaborate with SDG and are heading towards opening up their very own place in San Fransisco this year.  They have successfully raised the backing they needed on kickstarter and you can watch their video from that HERE.  Scott and Ted are a humble and friendly two man team who impressed me immensely.  I am thrilled to have them here.  We are in for a great treat.  

Scott has always loved to cook; it was Portland, Oregon's abundance of fresh seafood, quality produce, and great restaurants that inspired his career in the kitchen. He attended the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, and then he made the moved to San Francisco where he trained under Chef Loretta Keller at Bizou. Scott tried his hand at baking as Petite Auberge's early morning baker before moving on to work with Laurence Jossel at Chow. Rising through the ranks at Chow, he was constantly challenged to come up with inventive, seasonal menu ideas and recipes. During a European culinary sabbatical, the simple, rustic, cuisines of France, Italy, and Spain made a lasting impression on his culinary philosophy. Upon returning to San Francisco, Scott joined Bocadillos as the Chef de Cuisine. He has developed a tremendous appreciation for regional cuisines, local foods, and the slow food movement. He is excited to bring his passion and knowledge of food to Fine & Rare and now to Polly's Paladar!

Ted, on the other hand, has spent his entire professional life in the wine business. His career path began in vineyards and cellars in the Finger Lakes of Upstate NY, which then careened him up the ladder to working as a Sales Rep for a NYC- based distributor and later becoming the Senior V.P. and Director of Operations for that distributor. During his time as the Operations Director, Ted oversaw the production of an "in-house" brand that he helped grow to over 2,000 cases annually and increased distribution across multiple states. His varied wine industry background, from the winemaking process to executive positions, was driven by his ultimate goal: to launch a brand and apply all of his skills and past experiences into a label he could call his own. Ted is now focusing his knowledge in production, distribution and operations to make an amazing dining and drinking establishment.  Having him as guest here is very special.
