Crocker Creations - 3 Short Plays on Love
"3 Short Plays On Love", takes an exploratory look at love, from all the glory it shines in people to all pain it causes. Through three highly charged emotional experiences, the plays depict: 1. The demise of love, 2. unrequited love and 3. love no matter what! The first play, The Budgie, shows a couple on the verge of ending a long marriage. The painful actions of one lover leads to the disturbing consequences carried out by the other. The cause and effect of this sequence of events brings to the surface latent emotions and frustrations, which are long over due in a relationship lacking authentic connection and communication. The second play, To Love a Ninja, brings forth existential queries when a man plagued by the meaninglessness of existence, seeking to end his life at the hands of a Dr. Kervorkian-like practitioner, is given something other than death: a reason to live. Now, with his new found meaning to continue existing, he is plagued with a different pain: the pain of unrequited love; his love for a ninja assassin. Is it better to have lived and loved a ninja assassin than never to have loved at all? The third and final play, I Love You Most, we take a look at an "open relationship" and what love means when we see a couple go through stages of polyamorous affairs. Is it better to limit what your lover can sexually experience, or learn to accept your lover no matter what sexual activity they choose to have? What are the limits of love? And how do you know when you've gone too far? Accompanying these plays are the beautiful guitar strumming and string picking skills of the extremely talented Mason Stearns.
