THE LION IN WINTER
Few since Shakespeare have had such a marvelous gift for witty repartee as James Goldman displays in his classic comedy/drama, which pits a king against members of his family, each of whom wants to influence the succession to his throne. The Broadway original starred Robert Preston and Rosemary Harris, (whose performance won a Tony); its 1968 Hollywood adaptation (7 Oscar nominations including 3 wins) featured Peter OToole and Katherine Hepburn. Roy Weshinskey will direct The Stage Company's production.
