Sudden Oak Death: Implications for Forest Management
Since the 1990's, Sudden Oak Death has killed millions of trees in California and Oregon forests. Lisa Bell, Sonoma County's Sudden Oak Death Program Coordinator, and Steve Swain, Environmental Horticulture Advisor, will provide a brief history of the disease and discuss its ecology, transmission, and impacts on the forests of California's central coast. Classroom and field instruction including identification of susceptible trees will be included.
