Workshop: Exploring Bitters
Learn to embrace the complexity of bitters, long used by the ancients to support the digestive system and overall health. In this class, led by herbalist Nicole Kurmina Gilson, participants will sample a variety of bitter herbs in different forms, try a non-alcoholic sparkling cocktail with bitters, and learn about the basic physiology at work when the bitter flavor is sensed on the tongue. Everyone will leave with recipes and their own one-ounce bottle of a digestive bitter tincture blend.
Nicole is a graduate of the California School of Herbal Studies. She is dedicated to using organic and local herbs and supplies, and the workshop will have an emphasis on bioregionalism.
There is a minimum number of participants required to run this workshop. Please purchase your ticket ahead of time to ensure availability.
