Story League: Trashy

$150 Cash Prize for Funniest Story

LOCATION: Busboys and Poets 14/V (2021 14th St NW)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pre-selected (http://www.storyleague.org/submit-a-story) storytellers and Members (http://www.storyleague.org/storystore) get in for $10. Everyone else gets in for $12.

7 people get 7 minutes to tell a true, personal funny story on the theme "trashy." No notes or props allowed. Judges' funniest receives a $150 Cash Prize. The audience also selects its funniest. Both winners go on to Story League ALL-STARS 9, where the prize jumps to $300! And they're also featured on our podcast, Story League WINNERS. Submit a 100-word story pitch here. Deadline is Wednesday 7/9 at 3 o'clock. Our judges will decide which stories they wish to hear and you'll know by Friday 7/11 whether you are going on. Also: 1 storyteller will get selected randomly at the contest.

Pre-selected storytellers will be strongly encouraged to do a phone coaching session for their story.

IMPORTANT: Seating cannot be guaranteed for any ticket holder after 9:00. Line forms approx. 8:30 and doors open at 8:45. See photo/video/audio release on ticket page.
