Seattle Modern Orchestra, conducted by Julia Tai, is performing a diverse program from solo to ensemble by three unique voices of contemporary music world. A late work by American composer John Cage for string quartet which explores ever-changing harmonic progressions of ethereal qualities, an early work by French UW faculty professor Joël-François Durand of high energy and density for solo violin, and a late work by Italian composer Franco Donatoni featuring effervescent textures.
