Organic Prints, Paints, and Patterns: Alternative Natural Dyeing Techniques
Not only can natural dyes change the color of a textile or a garment, they can also be used to create patterns, effects, and surface designs on textiles and papers, as well as to make natural paints. Join fiber artist and textile expert Isa Rodrigues for this afternoon-long, hands-on workshop that teaches alternative ways to extract color from natural dye plants. Rodrigues will showcase the range of possibilities of natural dyes in making all-natural paints, prints using natural materials, and more tricks to make surface designs on fiber and paper.
