Song of the Sea
Song of the Sea is a double feature: SIRENS and The Girl From Bare Cove, built to give a community the voice they need to heal.

Two shows intertwined. A voice for the voiceless.

SIRENS - A sideshow symphony based on Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid, Oscar Wilde's The Fisherman and His Soul, Lorelei, and other water mythos. Set in the Freak Show at Coney Island, the waters of Gravesend Bay, and the liminal space between. With sounds inspired by the Vaudeville stage, sea shanties, Barnum and Bailey, and burlesque clubs, SIRENS is a dream. A nightmare. An exhibition of biological rarities and mundane regularities. At its deep, dark heart, SIRENS asks: What makes us human?

The Girl From Bare Cove - An original folk opera written for actor-musicians, The Girl from Bare Cove follows a family in crisis as they face the near-loss of one of their own. With songs inspired by the folk sounds of New England and a story rooted in the ghostly traditions and fairy tales of that place, this modern-day fable invites us to explore the communities we share and the worlds we build for ourselves.
