Elbow River Bells' Christmas ORNAMENTS
The Elbow River Bells (ERB) from the Bow River Handbell Musicians Society of Calgary will be sharing some of their favourite Christmas repertoire in this 2nd Annual ORNAMENTS concert. ERB will be performing and sharing the stage with guests: The Classical Guitar Society of Calgary's Guitar Orchestra and The Alpine Ringers.
Elbow River Bells (ERB) is an ensemble of 10 musicians, directed by Annie Hergott, who are passionate about the art of handbell ringing. As a smaller, more portable group compared to traditional handbell groups, ERB takes their music out into the community all year long with performances at seniors care homes, hospitals & hospices, farmers markets, corporate functions, airports, community parties, weddings, and more. ERB is especially busy in the holiday season.
As handbell ringing is as beautiful to watch as it is to hear, ERB strives to bring audiences a performance for all the senses.
This year, ERB has invited the Classical Guitar Society of Calgary's Guitar Orchestra, conducted by Mandy Loban-Jordan to join the ORNAMENTS stage. The Guitar Orchestra is made up of 9 dedicated musicians who will share a wide range of guitar music. Audiences will be thrilled to hear this special ensemble.
The Alpine Ringers are a 6-ringer team from the Bow River Handbell Musicians Society led by Annie Hergott. These experienced ringers aim to ring handbells in new and interesting ways, always experimenting with new arrangements, new techniques, and choreography. The performance piece for this show is a premiere piece prepared just for this audience, in this setting.
