A Night for David
A Benefit Performance for the D.O. Breathe Easy Foundation ONE-TIME SHOW ONLY LIVE at The Players Theater! Sunday, June 1st 2014 3:00 pm 115 MacDougal Street New York, NY 212-475-1449
Note: This benefit performance is being produced in an important effort to assist our friend David Oliver in dealing with skyrocketing medical bills and his loss of livelihood over the last two+ years.
MONDAY NIGHT MAGIC, NYC's Longest Running Magic Show celebrates the one-year anniversary of star performer David Oliver's successful DOUBLE lung transplant & his return to their stage! With more than 550 performances and 17 continuous seasons under its award-winning belt, the acclaimed Off-Broadway show, Monday Night Magic, has been featured in virtually every major press and media outlet in New York, was singled out as "New York's Best Magical Venue" by TimeOut NY magazine, awarded a "Best of Manhattan" by the New York Press, and its performers have been featured in countless television appearances, including on national programs like "Good Morning America" and repeat appearances on "The Today Show."
David Oliver has been a star performer of Monday Night Magic since it's inception in 1997. More than just a talented magician, for the past 25 years, David Oliver has mentored, directed and taught many of today's finest young magicians from around the globe. But several years ago, David was diagnosed with a rare lung disease known as Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis or "Bird Fancier's Lung," and the only treatment was a double lung transplant. Now, having struggled through complications and a lengthy and challenging recovery period, David can announce that the operation has been a tremendous success! And so, in celebration and as a call to awareness, Monday Night Magic is producing a literally (pun intended) breathtaking special show!
This one-time only event will include a raffle with amazing prizes, a lineup jam-packed with your favorite Monday Night Magic performers, and some surprise celebrity appearances!
The celebration will continue the following evening with David Oliver's homecoming performance on stage at the regularly scheduled weekly show of Monday Night Magic!
