Hartnell College Theatre Arts presents "Piernas: The Story Between Our Legs," a bilingual drama by Cristal González Ávila.
Free with optional donation of $10-20.
"Piernas" tells the story of four Mexican-American sisters whose distinct lifestyles are held together by their connection to Mamá, an M.S. patient still in love with the husband who left her 20 years ago. As Concha, Maritza, Cecilia, and Sandra plan their mother's 60th birthday, darker secrets begin to surface about the family's past, and Mamá's declining health. At the heart of the story is the prodigal daughter Cecilia, who returns to home to Watsonville for a journalism project about farmworkers' experiences, but in the process she must bring her own truth to light.

"Piernas" es una obra que cuenta la historia de cuatro hermanas México americanas. Aún con sus diferencias de estilo de vida, su conexión familiar se mantiene principalmente por sus conexiones personales a su mamá. Mamá esta diagnosticada con esclerosis múltiple y aún está enamorada de su esposo, quien la abandonó hace 20 años. Mientras Concha, Maritza, Cecilia y Sandra planean el cumpleaños de su madre, los secretos familiares empiezan a salir a la luz y la condición de mamá se hace más grave. En el centro de la historia se encuentra Cecilia, la hija pródiga quien regresa a su hogar en Watsonville para un proyecto periodístico sobre las experiencias de los trabajadores agrícolas, pero en el proceso debe revelar su propia verdad.
