The Malcolm X Theater Project Presents: "The Ballot or the Bullet"
In honor of the 84th birthday of Malcolm X, a special presentation of "The Ballot or the Bullet" will be staged at the Oakland Public Conservatory of Music. The "Ballot or the Bullet" was one of the most memorable speeches of the 20th century, and will be remembered for its prophetic views of the time. Its words ring true to current events facing America today.

Malcolm X delineator Michael Lange reenacts this memorable speech as it was delivered (on April 12, 1964) in full text.Michael Lange has done over 500 performances nationwide as the fiery freedom fighter.For this special occasion brian lawrence accompanies the speech on piano, infusing the text with traditional musical rhythms and renditions. Sylvie Bayeaux who holds a PhD in Theater Communications, directs.
