This event is born out of frustration with the systems that make it so hardhard for us to survive, let alone thrive and do so in a way that makes room for and uplifts what we create.
This space is inspired by the artist salons and historical meeting of the minds by between Black artists during periods like the Harlem Renaissance. I hope this can be an open-minded and open-hearted space for Black queer and trans creatives to meet, talk about whatever it is that you create or aspire to, and we can begin to share skills, and radically imagine ways to sustain our art, even as we continue to live through societal collapse.
Bring yourself, whatever energy you can spare, and something to take notes on. We will talk, reflect, and connect.
Facilitated by writer, journalist, and performer Tiffany Curtis.
Space is limited and will be capped at around 15 attendees.
