Benefit Movie Screening - SIGN MAN at CCSU
Be among the first anywhere to see this new film made in Connecticut!
MOVIE DESCRIPTION: In the small town of Old Hill Valley a mystery is unfolding on the streets. When homeless people begin to show-up all over town holding intricate, hand-painted signs adorned with unusual sayings, it catches the attention of a local newspaper reporter who sets out to investigate the meaning of the signs, and find the elusive homeless artist known only as Sign Man.
Written, produced, and directed by CCSU alumni Michael T. Lombardi, this original fictional short film tells an emotionally poignant but ultimately uplifting story set against the backdrop of a homeless community.
The film was shot entirely in central and southern Connecticut, and features a cast & crew almost entirely from Connecticut. The production team is also very proud to be able to feature several talented actors with Down syndrome. Offering roles to individuals with varying levels of IDD was very important to Michael T. Lombardi and the production team, and audiences will love watching them in action! Everyone at Beacon Trail Studios and MTO Films is proud and excited to team up with Family Promise of Central CT and look forward to a great evening!
Led by Cheryl Liedke, Family Promise of Central CT is a volunteer-based organization helping children and their families experiencing homelessness, remain intact with dignity while working to achieve lasting independence and housing security. They do amazing work in the community and would love your support!
Presented by the CCSU Department of Social Work.
