Arc School of Ballet 10 Year Anniversary Performance
Arc School of Ballet Celebrates 10 Years of Classical Dance Education

Seattle, WA: Arc School of Ballet will be celebrating its ten year anniversary with class demonstrations and a retrospective performance at the Bagley Wright Theater at the Seattle Center.

Since its beginning in 2004 in Ballard, the school has educated over 700 students in the artform of dance. Alumni have gone on to perform with such notable companies and schools such as Mark Morris Dance Company, the Julliard School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, ARC Dance Company, Nashville Ballet, American Ballet Theater/ JKO School, Joffery Ballet, and others.

Arc School of Ballet has presented its biennial Demonstration performance in its home in Ballard since 2004. However for the 10 Year Anniversary, it will be performing at the Bagley Wright Theater at the Seattle Center. This performance will feature the entire school in a skill progression of the schools' training syllabus and curriculum. The first half of the performance is dedicated to this progression and the second half will offer retrospective excerpts from the past five story ballet showcases created by Marie Chong: Fairytale Fantasies (2004), The Chocolate Factory (2006), In Wonderland (2008), Dr. Do-a-lot (2010), and The Emerald City (2012). Arc Youth Dance Company, Arc alumni, and the ARC Dance Company will also perform in this celebration followed by a reunion reception.

" I love to see the students in the Demonstration performance. The Faculty and I take great pride in our students accomplishments and to have them present the skills they have worked on throughout the year is rewarding. It is also exciting to see the entire school dance together."-- Marie Chong, Director
