Clapping for Nature
Following its debut at last years Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Clapping for Nature returns this summer to FDR Meadows. Directed and choreographed by Leigh Huster, this eco-somatic performance invites attendees to join in a moving practice of gratitude for the land, in connection with the ongoing efforts to Save the Meadows.
This participatory event will guide attendees along a walking path through the Meadows, moving with performers in a shared somatic experience that blends sound and stillness. Clapping for Nature is an embodied ritual of appreciation a call to slow down, listen deeply, and honor our interconnection with nature.
As development pressures threaten the future of FDR Meadows, this performance is both celebration and resistance a reminder of what is sacred and worth protecting in our urban wilds. Presented in solidarity with the Save the Meadows campaign, Clapping for Nature offers a communal, embodied way to connect with the land and each other in gratitude, awareness, and action.
