3rd Annual Sweetpotato Field Day
Join WSU Regional Small Farms and WSU NWREC at the 3rd Annual Sweetpotato Field Day!

Visit the sweetpotato fields at the WSU Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center in Mount Vernon to see common commercial varieties, purple-flesh varieties,varieties with more bush-like growth for better weed management, wireworm resistant varieties and unreleased breeding lines from the USDA sweetpotatoprogram. View a side-by-side comparison of sweetpotatoes grown with black plastic mulch vs. no mulch. Resultsof research trials will be discussed, including ideal harvest times, and economic potential for dual-cropping sweetpotato greens and roots in Western Washington.
