Beneath every mask, expressive masks or commedia dellarte masks, there is a neutral mask supporting all the others. -Jacques Lecoq Every actor carries a singular face but several masks. From the iconic commedia mask to the psychological mask, actor training centers on creating larger than life characters, but what about the mask under the mask? In this workshop, actors will work on revealing the neutral body using neutral masking. Actors will explore true neutrality; improv imagined space and learn true ensemble through the pedagogic methods used in the first-year practice of Lecoq actor training.
