We are hosting a fundraiser for our 2025 Prague Fringe Festival run of Heart of the Country. Come join us in the Rumpus Room Yard for a night of performance and music.
Gathered around the fire, a wayfaring scout troop trade tall tales and songs about the life and times of President Lyndon B. Johnson, charting a path from his impoverished childhood in the Texas Hill Country to the lives of those riding the coattails of history.
Less a biography of Johnson than a counter-mythology that plays on the gaps and imaginative leaps that make up the cultural consciousness of a political figure and their times, Heart of the Country explores how speculation can contribute to a process of reimagining value. Around the campfire, the currency of stories and songs opens onto a vision of democratic participation where value is negotiated and debt is fugitive.
Doors: 7:00 Show: 7:30 Curfew: 10:00
We will be performing the show in full with our new cast of campers - Julia Darrouy, Lucy Stewart, Sean McGarvey and Josh Dodds - and sharing some new songs and stories around the campfire.
So if you can't come see us in Prague, here's your chance to see the show and help us out with the cost of taking Heart of the Country international.
Tickets are Pay-What-You-Can and can be purchased in advance or on the door. If you are able to pay we would appreciate whatever you can give.
Please note that the event will take place OUTSIDE.
