13! The Musical
13 is a musical-comedy about stereotypes and the hierarchies of junior high, paired with a bright, catchy pop / rock score from Jason Robert Brown. It follows Evan Goldman, a confident and charismatic 12 1/2-going-on-13-yr-old, as his parents get divorced, and he is forced to move from big-city New York, to the middle of nowhere, Appleton, Indiana. If Evan can't get the coolest kids to come to his bar mitzvah, how is he going to survive the school year? As Evan navigates the world of cool kids and nerds, jocks and cheerleaders, first kisses and heartbreak, he comes to understand what it truly means to be a friend.
