Gensler Presents: OC Health Care Agency Panel Discussion
The County of Oranges new Healthcare Campus is a lab and administrative building that replaced several of their existing antiquated facilities to better service the diverse Orange County community. The result is an engaging, amenity rich project. The simple massing and materials enabled the design team to provide an exceptionally welcoming campus and entry. Flexibility and space efficiency were gained by taking an integrated approach to space planning while achieving appropriate security and expansion capabilities for programs such as Emergency Medical Services, the BSL3 level Public Health Laboratory and the Health Care Agency Administration.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will learn how the Design-Build delivery method was leveraged to ensure ADA accessibility, sustainability, and compliance with Cal Green codes while creating a high-performance facility that prioritizes health, safety, and wellness.
Attendees will explore how the project applied the AIA Framework for Design Excellence and sustainable design strategies to enhance resilience, efficiency, and long-term operational performance in a BSL-3 lab environment

Attendees will see how thoughtful planning and design fostered a non-institutional, inclusive environment that brings together four departments under one roof, enhancing collaboration, efficiency, and occupant well-being in a mission-critical public health facility.
