Houses and Farms on the Wallkill River Valley: The Changing Face of Agriculture in Gardiner and Shawangunk
Our 4th annual self-guided tour explores the rich farming region of the Shawangunk Kill and Wallkill River valleys with stunning views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge.
Featuring the finest historic houses and their farm complexes, the tour includes an 18th C. Dutch stone house and barn, several 18th -20th C. Federal homes, a Greek-Revival clapboard, neo-classic public buildings, early industrial sites, and a green contemporary fashioned from a 19th C. barn structure. Seven properties are on the National Register.
