workshop with Dawn Woodward, Baking with Buckwheat
Did you know buckwheat is NOT a wheat? And that you can make delicious bread and sweets with it without adding other grains? This class will demystify baking with gluten free grains and make buckwheat the star of your flour pantry.
We will make a 100% buckwheat sourdough, packed with seeds and nuts. A vegan chocolate & ginger buckwheat cookie. A quick buckwheat cardamom and banana bread.
Workshop is Wednesday, March 26 from 9am-1pm, at the Breadlab in Burlington, WA.
Coffee and tea provided.
Following the workshop, Dawn's book "Flour is Flavour" will be available for purchase and signing.
Evelyn's Crackers is a heritage grain bakery in Toronto that has been pioneering whole grain baking since 2008. Founded by a Baker and a Chef, they named the business after their daughter and the humble cracker became the vehicle to their creativity. The goal being to showcase organic heritage grains grown in Ontario by farmers who believe in nutrition and sustainable farming. The Grain Project
