Human Voices
The internationally-acclaimed baroque ensemble REBEL presents a program of baroque chamber music performed on period instruments by Vivaldi, JS Bach, Telemann, Marais, Corrette & St. Colombe with special guests Les Voix Humaines viola da gamba duo from Montreal and the celebrated German virtuoso, Matthias Maute, recorder & flute. The concert will take place in the historic and acoustically-excellent Bedford Presbyterian Church. A special Mother's Day champagne reception follows the concert to which all are invited, and at which audience can mingle with the artists.
The richly-varied program includes chamber music in diverse combinations, and will feature the U.S. premiere of the 'Brandenburg Concerto #12" by J.S. Bach-Haynes/Napper. The instrumentalists in this program are: Matthias Maute, recorder and flute; Jörg-Michael Schwarz & Karen Marie Marmer, violins; Susie Napper and Margaret Little, violas da gamba; John Moran, cello; Motomi Igarashi, bass and viola da gamba and Dongsok Shin, harpsichord. This concert is the season finale of the Musica Antiqua Nova series.
