Glue - An immersively-staged new play
Space Pirates Theatre Collective presents the first staging of Lynn Mari's brilliant and funny new play "Glue," brought to you in the sunny neighborhood of Venice in Los Angeles, California. Staged immersively in local wine bar 401k Food & Wine by site-specific theatre specialist Ben Zingos, this production will be an affordable theatrical experience for the local community.
A brief description of the play in the words of the playwright:
Bar-owner Delia opens her doors early for a playwriting workshop she had signed up for that needed a new place to meet. Desperate for a creative mode of being, Delia clings to her teacher Nick, in order to write a play that Nick desperately needs for his own emotional healing. Nick is Delia's only hope at escaping her unfulfilling everydayness, and Delia is Nicks only hope for finding closure after loss. Glue is a new play about what plays get written, who gets to write them, and how disparate parts come together to make plays--and humans--in this world.
Our first four matinees will run in coordination with the venue to offer a wine-reception and dinner service after the show for attendees who would like to stay, enjoy some excellent food and drink, and discuss the show. Food and drink not included with ticket purchase.
Space Pirates Theatre Collective operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit group, fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas. Our mission is to provide immersive and affordable theatrical experiences for our community while still paying our cast, creatives, and crew. We set our ticket prices at $10 because we want our productions to be what the movies, and even longer ago, the theatre, used to be: A form of entertainment accessible to everyone, regardless of economic status or means. That said, $10 per ticket doesn't begin to cover our expenses completely, and so we ask that those who do have the means to pay more, do so.
For donations, you have two options: You can make your donation as you buy your ticket here through PayPal, or if you prefer to use a debit or credit card, you can simply buy your ticket here, then head over to Fractured Atlas to donate to our crowdfunding campaign directly. Brown Paper Tickets is not a nonprofit, so they cannot process donations through their card-reader, which is why donations with ticket purchase must be done over PayPal. Fractured Atlas, however, is a nonprofit (and our fiscal sponsor), so they can process donations done with any payment method (the link to our page with them is below). Whichever way you decide to donate, you will receive a tax receipt with all necessary information to conveniently make your deductions. We thank you in advance for your generosity, as it is what makes it possible for us to bring high quality theatre to the Los Angeles community at a price that is affordable for all!
