Primary Development as the Source of Core Life Patterns
Over 30 years of research and clinical findings from Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology (PPN), as well as brain imaging, developmental neurosciences, and attachment and trauma research, now show that the primary period, the time between pre-conception through the first year, is the time when a person's core blueprints are established. Sophisticated physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and relational patterns are established on a subconscious level and can determine the difference between lifelong patterns of surviving or thriving.
Human development is predicated upon conditions during the primary period. Challenges arising at any stage often have their source in the primary period and can be effectively addressed at any time:
* attachment, sleep, or breastfeeding challenges * oppositional behavior * marital and family conflict * any form of depression/PTSD
PPN provides an understanding missing from many psychological perspectives, one that can heal core wounding and shift the most stubborn and pervasive patterns.
