The Yeomen of the Guard
In this darkest of Gilbert and Sullivan's collaborations, Colonel Fairfax has been unjustly sentenced to die by a cousin scheming to inherit his estate. To thwart the plan, he secretly marries a strolling singer who expects to become a rich widow. When the Colonel instead escapes his imprisonment, it throws the citizens of the Tower of London into upheaval, leading to both merriment and heartache.
