COTE Presents: Code, Compliance, & Cupcakes
AIA|LA Committee on the Environment presents

Code, Compliance, & Cupcakes

Thursday,  June 26 (6pm-8pm)
AIA Los Angeles
3780 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 800
Los Angeles, CA 90010

Learning Units:  2.0

AIA members = free
non-AIA members = $25.00.

Seminar Summary:
California has set Net-Zero Energy as a design goal by 2030, therefore it is imperative that all members of the design team are on the same page when it comes to code requirements and sustainable design practices. This presentation focuses on "what it means" rather than "what is says" regarding the new requirements. To keep things interesting, the presentation addresses how the changes will affect architects, owners, and engineers in terms of the things they care about: cost, schedule, coordination, space, time, etc.

Learning Objectives:
Understand the new envelope performance requirements and considerations for future solar systems.
Understand the necessary considerations to implement lighting power reductions and electrical infrastructure requirements.
Understand how new mechanical requirements will increase costs and building space required.
Understand the new commissioning requirements and the timeline for their completion.
