Teaching and Learning Workshop for K-12 Educators: Exploring Place and the Creative Process
Teaching and Learning Workshop for K-12 Educators: Exploring Place and the Creative Process In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week 2014, educators are invited to enjoy a fun, inspiring gallery tour and workshop experience. Educators will discuss works of art with colleagues, create artwork in a hands-on workshop, and discover strategies for implementation in the classroom. Participants will create work inspired by When The Stars Begin to Fall: Imagination and the American South, an exhibition that references the South as a place of origin, exile and return in imagery. Educators will experiment with a variety of art-making techniques, making connections between the creative process, critical thinking, reflection, and imagination. Dinner will be provided. Classroom materials and prize giveaways are included. Teaching and Learning Workshop for K-12 Educators is a free program. RSVP is required. Space is limited, and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Educator programs are made possible thanks to a major grant from Wells Fargo.
