Angels In America: Millennium Approaches
Hailed "miraculous" by the New York Times, Angels In America has received numerous awards and accolades, including a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for best play. Written by Tony Kushner, a Steinberg Distinguished Playwright (Mimi) Award winner - the largest theatre award in the nation, the story tracks two couples whose relationships are disintegrating. Set in 1980's America, this piece takes place against a backdrop of greed, conservatism, sexual politics and the discovery of AIDS.
A year and a half in the making, this performance will premiere during the height of Kushner Fest 2009 in the Twin Cities as part of PSADT's Second Annual Non-New Works Series.
